September 10, 2016 in Moscow was launched Moscow Central Circle - in fact a new line of the underground metro.

The prototype of the modern MCC is the Moscow circle railroad, which was built around Moscow in 1903-1908 years by the P.I. Rashevsky. It served for passenger and freight services. Gradually, the role of MCR was reduced exclusively to the movement of goods. Over time, the Railroad was almost in the center of the capital. Industrial enterprises have ceased to provide it the download, but a necessity in the development of passenger traffic on the contrary increased. At the dawn of the third Millennium, it turned out that the road could solve some of the transport problems of the capital and give a new impetus to the development of territories free from factory buildings.

So, in 2001 there was a project of reconstruction of the road: its transformation into the high-speed route with transfers on the subway line and the railway line of various directions. Today, the MCC is a 54 km long highway passes through 26 districts of Moscow, where live about 2 million people. Moreover in five districts MCC is the first type of public transport, which does not depend on weather and traffic jams. The circle has 15 transit for nine metro lines and six for five radial railway directions. This allowed the creation of an additional 350 new routes. At the MCC on weekdays, 177 pairs of trains run around the ring, and on weekends, 150 pairs. The capacity is 1500 passengers, the “Swallow” electric trains are adapted for people with limited mobility, passengers with children, and are convenient for transporting bicycles and wheelchairs. Trains are equipped with toilets, climate control systems and Wi-Fi. The organization of passenger traffic on the MCC is entrusted to the State Unitary Enterprise Moscow Metro, the carrier is Russian Railways.

On December 26, 2017, the project "Development of the Moscow Central Circle" received a prize in the nomination "Ecology of the City" of the XIV National Environmental Award of V.I. Vernadsky, as reported by the press service of the Moscow railway. Indeed, MCC was reconstructed with care for the capital’s resident, the environment, using energy-saving technologies. New high-tech trains "Swallow" run along the iron ring, which develop speeds of up to 160 km / h and do not give "noisy inconveniences" to the citizens due to the technology called “velvet way”, which was applied during the reconstruction. The device of a continuous track reaches more than 800 meters, and about 14 km of noise shields were installed there. Moreover, after the appearance of the MCC, about 20% of people moved from cars to public transport, which reduced (though not significantly) noise and atmospheric pollution. In addition, the Central Circle passes mainly through industrial zones. According to the authorities, the emergence of new transport will contribute to the development of these territories, for example ZIL. Already on the site of the old plant located park. The territory of the park is densely riddled with walking paths, along which there are benches for visitors, lights, stylish "wild" flower beds, planted trees and shrubs. The improvement of the park is based on the concept of public art is the integration of art into the urban environment. Improvement of lands adjacent to the MCC is one of the projects of the mayoralty. They plan to make parking spaces for cars and bicycles, bike rental, landscaping, about 25 parks for recreation and walks, as well as to build about 750 thousand square meters of commercial real estate — hotels, shopping areas, offices and technology parks.

Thus, MCC is a unique project in terms of developing the transport infrastructure, creating new jobs, as well as taking care of the city's ecology.
